Samuel Seow An

Samuel Seow An is Managing Partner of YSL Legal and leads the firm’s Government and Regulatory, Regional Practice Group comprising of lawyers and legal professionals from across YSL Legal’s regional network. Samuel is admitted to practice in Singapore and Australia.

 

Samuel’s practice has a distinct international focus. His clients include multinational corporations and SMEs with regional operations. He is regularly instructed by governments and private companies to advise on regulatory concerns (including on foreign investment and trade issues).

 

On the disputes front, Samuel has significant experience in resolving commercial disputes across a range of industries, including construction, investment joint ventures, energy and healthcare.

 

Samuel has also developed a private client practice, specialising in immigration, investment and estate planning matters for individuals and families from Singapore, Indonesia and elsewhere in the region.

 

Complementing his legal practice, Samuel has a longstanding interest in academia. Samuel has published articles and book chapters on his areas of expertise. He currently holds adjunct teaching positions at Thammasat University Faculty of Law (Thailand) and Universitas Pelita Harapan Faculty of Law (Indonesia) and has held research and lecturing positions at numerous other institutions in the region.

 

Samuel is featured in the 2017 edition of the Thomson Reuters Asian Legal Business ’40 under 40′ lawyers in Asia, for his regional legal practice.

 

He holds a first-class Bachelor of Law degree and a Master’s in Law degree from the Australian National University, alongside various qualifications in international dispute resolution. He is a Singapore Mediation Centre Accredited Mediator and is also accredited as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
