David was called to the Singapore Bar in October 2014 and is Managing Partner of YSL Legal. He has lived both in China and the United Kingdom; he completed a Business Management Course in the prestigious Peking University before studying law at the University of Bristol.
Before commencing his own legal practise, David was a partner in a mid-sized law firm, which was recognised by the Singapore Law Society as being one of Singapore’s top legal firms heavily involved in pro-bono legal matters. David has a wide range of legal experience, spanning both criminal and civil Litigation, and continues to contribute his time as a Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS) volunteer.
David leads the firm’s private client services practice, while his personal areas of expertise includes civil and criminal litigation, insurance claims, family law, wills and probate, and personal injury (including motor accident claims).
Complementing his legal practice, David is also an active entrepreneur and venture investor. David actively partakes in philanthropic activities in emerging markets which he has business interests in. For all his achievements, Mr Yong has repeatedly been featured in The Straits Times, Prestige SG magazine, Pin SG magazine and The Peak Singapore magazine.
